As part of the Apollo Series 65 Detector Range the 55000-217 Ionisation Conventional Smoke Detector offers a fire detection solution to many applications. The detector can be used with most modern conventional fire alarm panels.
Air in the Apollo Series 65 Ionisation Smoke Detectors dual sensing chambers is irradiated to produce ions that travel to the positive and negative electrodes, creating a current flow. As smoke enters the outer chamber, the flow drops and the voltage increases. The detector will then enter the alarm state and the indicator LED lights up.
The Apollo Series 65 ionisation smoke detector housing is identical to that of the Apollo optical smoke detector but has an indicator LED which is clear in quiescent state but produces red light in alarm.
The Apollo Series 65 Detector range incorporates well-proven sensing technologies, together with advances in materials and electronics technology, including an IC based on that used in Apollo XP95 analogue addressable detectors.
Having a wide operating voltage of 9-33V, the Apollo Series 65 detectors can be integrated into security systems, when used with a relay base.
