The Apollo Discovery Analogue Addressable Optical Smoke Detector (58000-600) is a high specification analogue addressable fire detector. Designed to meet specifications for detectors incorporated in sophisticated systems, This Discovery detector provides engineers with an additional dimension in fire protection capability.
The Apollo Discovery Optical Smoke Detector (58000-600) communications protocol is a development of the proven XP95 protocol, making both ranges of detector compatible.
The Apollo Discovery Optical Smoke Detector (58000-600) is suitable for slow burning or smouldering fires and should be positioned where these are most likely to occur. They can be set to a sensitivity mode best suited for the application.
The Apollo Discovery Optical Smoke Detector uses an IR LED which pulses light across a smoke chamber with a photo-diode set an obtuse angle. In clear air it receives no light, but when smoke enters the chamber, light from the LED is scattered onto the photo-diode. A signal is then processed to provide an analogue value for transmission when the detector is polled.
